Joseph Francis Kulikowski

Joseph Francis Kulikowski, 99, left this life and entered eternal life on April 25, 2023, at HeartFields Assisted Living.  Joseph was born in Plains Township, PA on January 6, 1924, he was the son of the late Anthony and Lottie (Kulwicz) Kulikowski. 
Joe attended Plains Memorial High School and enlisted in the Army at age 16 to serve in World War II. He was honored to serve in multiple branches of the military including the Army, Army Air Core, and the Navy. 
Joe married the late Dorothy (Bailey) Kulikowski. They lived several places in the Northeast before settling in Maryland where Joe worked for the Federal Government.  Joe retired from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration where he worked as a Tort Claims Officer. Joe had the opportunity to travel extensively because of his job. Some of his most memorable trips were shared with his buddy and grandson, Will Aleshire.
A natural born storyteller, Joe loved to talk with family and friends and share stories and jokes.  He spent many hours writing letters in Polish to his siblings and creating holiday cards for loved ones. 
Joe was a man of great faith and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockville for many years.
Living a long life, Joe was predeceased by his siblings, Julie Anders, Helen Barna, Richard, Edwin, Chester, and Anthony, as well as his offspring, and dear friend Jean.  He is survived by generations of loving grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
For many years, prior to moving to HeartFields, Joe was cared for by his loving daughter Dorothea Aleshire who predeceased him.  Joe’s family extends their gratitude for the compassionate care he received at HeartFields and from Frederick Health Hospice. 
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages people to contribute in Joe’s memory to a veteran’s organization of their choosing.
The family will bid Joe ‘szerokiej drogi’ in a private interment ceremony at Pine Grove Cemetery at their convenience.
