Mr. Joseph E. Helinsky, 74, of Middletown MD, went to see his heavenly father on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was the beloved husband for over 51 years to his wife Connie Helinsky.
He was born October 29, 1940 in Connellsville, PA to the late Frank and Cecilia Helinsky.
He was a member of St. Francis-St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a cantor and later a choir member who sang with his heart. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Joseph joined the US Marine Corps in 1962 and served until 1968.
Joseph worked at the US Geological Survey, US Army Corps of Engineers and the Ft. Detrick Water Treatment Plant for over 41 years.
In his spare time Joseph enjoyed golf, cooking, woodworking and gardening.
In addition to his wife he is survived by granddaughter Chloe, his sons, Steven, Craig, Keith, brother Francis, sister-in-law Mary-Margaret, sisters Regina and Dolores and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Bernard and one sister, Lilian.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Sunday, March 8 from 2-4 and 6-8.
A Mass with Christian Burial will be held 12 p.m. on Monday, March 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Petersville.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
