Joseph Geisinger

Mr. Joseph Michael "Mike" Geisinger, 60, of Woodbine died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at University of Maryland Medical Center.

Born January 4, 1953 in Frederick, he was the son of Joseph Daniel Geisinger of Frederick, and the late Marie Knott Geisinger.

He was owner/operator of New Design Construction, Inc. in Woodbine since 1997.

Mike loved hunting in Montana and fishing in Canada. He loved taking care of his animals, especially his chickens, rabbits, and his dogs.

Mike gave the gift of life by being an organ donor through the Living Legacy Foundation

In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, Michael W. Geisinger and wife, Dixie, of Middletown; three grandchildren, Brooke Geisinger, Kaylynn Moore and Tyler Moore; five brothers, Danny Geisinger and wife, Marie, of Middletown; Keith Geisinger and Susan Ritenour, of Frederick; Gary Geisinger and wife, Becky, of Chambersburg, PA; Jeff Geisinger and wife, Patricia, of Thurmont; and Tim Geisinger and wife, Kim, of Brunswick; two sisters, Jeanne Geisinger of Frederick and Kathy Flook and Dave Wolfe of Jefferson; his special friend, Joyce (Doodlebug) Jesneck of Woodbine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He also will be remembered by his former wife, Debra Geisinger of Frederick.

Mike was predeceased by his mother, and his daughter, Melissa Moore.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 3 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Funeral celebrant will be Jacqui Kreh.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Mike's family asks that memorial contributions be made in his name to The Living Legacy Foundation, 1730 Twin Springs Road, Suite 200, Baltimore, MD 21227.
