On March 5, 2014: Mr. Joseph Odir Cecil,31; died at home with his mother and step-father; Virginia and Gabriel Vallecillo. He was born January 19, 1983 in Washington, DC. He graduated from Frederick High in 2001. He also attended Frederick Community College where he pursued a law degree for three years. Joseph joined the Army National Guard Alpha Company 1-175th Infantry battalion in 2000, were he retired from in March 23, 2013. Joseph was employed at USAMRIID on Fort Detrick for the last five years. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law; John T and Stephanie Castillo, His step-sister Sarah Canales. His Father and Step-mother; Jose F and Yasmin Canales from Alexandria, VA, along with many more uncles, aunts, cousins from his father’s side in the area as well. He also has two nieces; Isabella Castillo and Mikaila White; Two nephews, Noel K Castillo and Malikai J Castillo. He also had three god- daughters of life long best friend of James Forrester and fiancée. He has from his mother side two aunts, Carol Robless, Julie Moreno, one Uncle Dewey L. Cecil, Jr. and many cousins and second cousins. Joseph leaves behind many, many good lifelong friends that he cherished dearly. Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Homes, PA, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702 on March 11, 2014 from 7-9 pm. A service to celebrate Joseph's life will be held at funeral home on March 12, 2014 at 3pm, burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Frederick.
