Joseph Paul Banfield

Joseph Banfield, 54, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in Mount Airy, MD.

He was born on December 9, 1967 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland to Thomas Edwin Banfield and Doris Ann (Auton) Banfield.

Joe grew up in Rockville, Maryland, and graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in 1986.

He began working at Chesapeake Petroleum while still in high school and continued to the present.

He resided in Mount Airy, Maryland, and also had a home in Pennsylvania. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, bonfires, and four-wheeling.

Joe loved animals and had many dogs over the years including Rex, Princess, Jade, Michelob, Coal, Buddy, and Duke. He also had two cats Lucy and Gizmo.

Joe was predeceased by nephew, Wesley Foreman and brother, Tommy Banfield. 

He is survived by his parents, sister's, Kassy Foreman (Daryl) and Barbi Burdine, daughter, and brother, James Banfield (Kelli). He was the beloved uncle of Alyson Gordon (Gamal) and great-nieces Arionne, Dionne, Kendall, and Kamryn; nephews, Buddy and Kurt Burdine (Haley), and nieces, Chelsea and Bailey Banfield.
He also leaves behind beloved friends and family in Pennsylvania.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 8 East Ridgeville in Mt. Airy, MD. 21771.

A celebration of Joseph's life will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
