Jonathan (Jon) Fader

Jonathan (Jon) Fader, 78, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, June 1, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born on January 7, 1940, in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Irving  Fader and Bertha  (Silverman) Fader.

He was a loving husband of Joan Fader for 53 years.

Jon graduated from Verona High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed by BAE Systems for 35 years.

Jon was an active member and participated in the choir, children's ministry and was a lay reader at St. James' Episcopal Church in Mount Airy, MD.
He also was a member of the USS John C. Calhoun Veterans Association and the TriState Submarine Veterans Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jennifer Atkins (Dennis) of Columbia, MD and James Fader (Gail) of Denver, Colorado.
Grandfather of Andrew and Benjamin Atkins and Ellanor Fader.

A celebration of Jonathan's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, June 8, 2018, at St. James' Episcopal Church, 1307  N. Main Street in Mount Airy, MD.
Rev. Kristin Krantz will officiate.  A reception will immediately follow.

Memorial donations may be made to St. James' Episcopal Church.
