Mr. Jonathan Tamblyn Spry, 76, of New Market died Monday, March 3, 2014. He was the loving husband of 31 years to Susan Spry.
Born July 4, 1937 in Berkeley, California, he was the son of the late Harold and Gertrude Nelson Spry.
Mr. Spry received his BS degree from Berkeley and his MS degree from Boston University.
He had a 22 year career with the U.S. Public Health Service, and at the time of his retirement, was a Captain and Chief Physical Therapist for the U.S. Coast Guard. Following his military career, he was a tenured professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at California State University-Fresno for 15 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Jeanne, Jennifer, Bonnie, and Joseph; and five grandchildren, Joey, Michael, Frank, Sean and Grace.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
