John Nathan {Sonny} Sewell III

Mr. John Nathan Sewell III (Sonny), 72 of Gaithersburg, MD passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Manor Care in Potomac.
Born October 6, 1936 in Frederick he was the son of the late Alyce and John Sewell II.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1958. He retired as a lab technician from N.I.H.
He enjoyed playing Football, basketball, hunting, painting and dancing. He also loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children Linda Taylor of Blytheville AK; Anthony Sewell and wife Gwen of Greencastle PA; Terry Sewell of New Market MD; Zita Rice of Walkersville MD; Lynn Sewell and wife V'Layne of Frederick, MD; Bruce Walker and wife Sheila of Frederick, MD; Leda Sewell and husband Kent Watts of St. Marys, MD; Jackie Ambush and husband Stanley of Frederick, MD; and step daughter, Velma Jones; a brother Rodney Sewell; a sister, Donna Smith; 20 grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a host of niece and nephews.
He is predeceased by two sisters Lavaughn Norris and Frances Gray.

Services: A memorial service will be held at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 11:00AM with Pastor Yolanda Gamble officiating.
