John {Jack} H. Wheeler

John Jack H. Wheeler, 76 of Brunswick, MD passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the Kline Hospice House. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Shirley A. Wheeler.

Born October 18, 1932 in Florida he was the son of the late Howard F. and Esther R. Wheeler.

Jack retired from Brunswick CSX railroad after 40 years of service; served 4 years in the US Air force during the Korean conflict.

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church; a Life Member of the Brunswick Eagles aeries #1136; a Life Member of the Brunswick Moose Club; and a member of the Brunswick American Legion.

He is survived by daughter, Teresa Barnhouse and husband Tony Barnhouse of Brunswick, son John Wheeler, Jr. and wife Cheri of Knoxville, son Anthony Wheeler of Daytona Beach, FL. Six grandchildren - Mitch Barnhouse and wife Shawn, Shanda Swann and husband J.J., Heather, Ryan, Jacob, and Rachel Wheeler; 2 step-grandchildren -Kendra and Jessie Barnhart; 5 great- grandchildren - Hannah and Liam Barnhouse, McKayla, Konner, and Anna Swann.

Sister, Shirley Utterback and husband Bill; Sister-in-laws, Jeannine Wheeler, Charlotte Butler, Ruth Creswell, and Sylvia Phillips.

Besides his wife and parents Jack was also preceded in death by his beloved dog Hope, and his only brother, Franklin (Gene) E. Wheeler;

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Wednesday, February 18th from 7:00-9:00 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 19th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mr. Lawrence Teixeira officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery.
