John “Jack” Carroll Curran

John “Jack” Carroll Curran, 65, of Hagerstown, passed away at home Wednesday, October, 14, 2020 after an extended illness.
Born August 22, 1955 in Washington, D.C. to parents, Joseph Carroll and Margaret Jo (Francis) Curran of Silver Spring, MD. After graduating from Gaithersburg High School, Jack entered the elevator industry as a third-generation union elevator constructor. He retired with 35 years of service. Nicknamed “Jackie Know” for his extensive mechanical knowledge and ability. His was truly a gift. It was often said there wasn’t a car, elevator, or escalator that he met he couldn’t fix. Jack enjoyed NASCAR, Washington Redskins football, music, old movies, and most enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Derrick Evan of Baltimore, son, Sean Patrick and his partner Patty of Sharpsburg and their children Emily, James, Lexus, Jerzy, Faith, and Jacob, his daughter, Shelley Lynn and partner Joseph Schultz of Hagerstown and their children Gracee, Harper, Ethan, and Isaac, son, John Gregory of Hagerstown and his son Liam. Jack is also survived by his brothers, Joseph Glenn of Mt. Airy, and Francis Scott of Hagerstown; and his sister Mary Katherine and husband John Musselman of Swan Point; and many nieces and nephews.
The family is looking forward to seeing everyone at a celebration of Jack’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
A man of faith and a proud American, Jack’s message to each of you all would be to have hope for a better tomorrow, and the strength to see it through. He will be loved and truly missed by us all.
