John J. Pretko
September 1, 1927 — April 16, 2010
Mr. John J. Pretko, 82, of Walkersville, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2010 at Glade Valley Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Jean J. Pretko, his wife of 60 years.
Born September 1, 1927 in Askem, PA he was the son of the late John and Helen (Borkowski) Pretko. A U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, Mr. Pretko graduated from the University of Baltimore, Class of 1952, and earned his graduate degree in finance from the American Institute of Banking.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Paul Pretko and his wife Lori; and his five grandchildren, Marc Kochanski, Kevin Kochanski, Jessica , Ryan, and Connor Pretko.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Pretko.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 from 7 until 9 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD with Rev. Andy Aaron officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
