John Walsh

John Joseph Walsh, 77, of Boonsboro, Maryland, died on October 27, 2012 at his home.

He was born May 7, 1935 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late David James and Helen (Moran) Walsh.
The family moved to Washington, D.C., where John graduated from Anacostia High School. He joined the United States Air Force in 1954 and served until October 1957 as an Airman First Class. He attended college on the G.I. Bill and was employed for 30+ years as an arborist with Gustin Gardens and Treemasters in the Maryland/Washington, DC area. John moved to Boonsboro in the 1970's where he enjoyed the peaceful town and countryside. After his retirement, John was on staff at the Keedysville Senior Center where he transported and delivered meals to homebound seniors.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: daughter Theresa Stallworth and husband Dr. Mark Stallworth of Lewisville, North Carolina, and son, Robert Walsh and wife Dr. Glynis Walsh, of Old Greenwich, Connecticut, as well as his grandchildren Caitlin Stallworth, Ben Stallworth, Alex Walsh and Gretchen Walsh. He is also survived by his former wife, Claire Tschudy of Nashville, Tennessee, and his siblings Eleanor Folk of Alexandria, Virginia, Helen Walsh of Suitland, Maryland, and Joe Walsh of Port Orange, Florida, as well as his dear friend for thirty years, Bernadette Raimondi.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Walsh, and his brother, David Walsh.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, with a funeral ceremony immediately following at 2 pm. Rev. Joseph P. Sheedy will officiate.
