John Moser
July 22, 1926 — June 6, 2011
Mr. John W. Moser, 84, of New Midway, passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 peacefully at home surrounding by his loving family. He was the husband of Eva Crum Moser who he adored and was married to for 62 wonderful years.
Born July 22, 1926 in New Midway, MD, he was the son of the late Elmer and Cora Coshun Moser.
Mr. Moser was a hard working dairy farmer throughout his life. John was also a life member of the New Midway Volunteer Fire Department where he actively fought fires in his younger years and in his later years actively participated in social events. Most of all, John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He often said “I don’t have much money but I feel like a millionaire because I have a wonderful family.” He also enjoyed playing records, dominos, watching Westerns, Red Skelton movies and wrestling. He loved flowers, his horses, and his dog, Heather.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Linda Plumer and husband George of New Midway, Dorothy (Dottie) Zimmerman and husband Marvin of Middletown, and Deanna Meyer and husband Robert of New Midway; grandchildren Kevin Plumer and wife Kerry, Jason Plumer and wife Roxy, Mark Plumer and wife Sissy, Shanna Zimmerman and companion Mike Hearn, Kelly Zimmerman, Janelle Meyer, and Brandon Meyer; great-grandchildren Krista Plumer, Kyle Plumer, Natalie Plumer, Xander Wetzel, and Brooke Hearn. He is also survived by sisters Carrie Bollinger, Frances Crum, Anna Fogle all of Keymar, Violet Crum and husband Melvin of Walkersville, and Dorothy Wachter and husband Charles of Keymar. Many nieces and nephews also survive. John was preceded in death by a brother Richard Moser and sisters Ethel Thomas and Mary Renner.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville on Friday, June 10, 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Services will be officiated by Rev. Dorothy Lundgren and Rev. Michelle Carlson on Saturday, June 11, at 1:30 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, Walkersville. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, Daysville. Pallbearers will be George Plumer, Marvin Zimmerman, Robert Meyer, Kevin Plumer, Mark Plumer, Jason Plumer, Melvin Crum Jr., and Randy Connatser.
