John "Squirrel" Griffith

John Griffith, also known as "Squirrel," passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was born on November 23, 1959.

John is survived by a large and loving family who will cherish his memory. His wife, Debbie Griffith, stood by his side for many years and was his partner in life. He was a devoted father to Jonathan Griffith, Joey Griffith, Justin Griffith, Stacey Griffith, Krystal Griffith, Deirdre Burke (step-daughter), Travis Moyer (step-son), Devan Ray (step-daughter) and grandfather to ten grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother; Carol Griffith and siblings, Serena and Dennis Griffith.

Not only was he loved by his family, but he also touched the lives of many others. His generous spirit knew no bounds as he gave freely of himself and shared his kindness with everyone he met.

In addition to being a caring husband and father figure, John was the owner and operator of DDT Services Inc., for many years.

He had a great smile that would light up any room and a warm personality that made him instantly likable. He had a heart full of love and cared deeply for those around him. John's kindheartedness extended far beyond words. If someone needed help or support, you could count on John to be there, whether it was an old friend or a stranger.

His hobbies included fishing, riding motorcycles, and working on old cars and trucks. These passions were shared with his family and friends throughout his life.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick, Maryland, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702.
A celebration of John's will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Following services, burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701.
