John M. Spangler, 43, of Frederick, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014. He was the husband of Joanna (Joey) Spangler.
Born August 21, 1970 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of Theresa Kellison and grandson of Mildred Spangler.
John had a career in IT and worked for various companies in the Maryland, Northern Virginia and Pennsylvania areas.
He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan and was well known for sharing his love of Star Wars, Dr. Who, movies, and memorabilia with his friends and sons.
Above all, John was a man who loved spending time with his family, especially his four sons.
In addition to his loving wife Joey he is survived by his four children, Ross, Robert, Max and Martin Spangler; a sister, Michelle Kuhn, husband Jeremy, and nephew Zac Morrison; a brother, James Spangler and wife Wendy; in-laws, William R. Nicklas, Jr. and wife Marcy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Brandon and Kristen Nicklas, Andrew Nicklas, Eva Lichtenberg, and nieces Rae and Frankie Nicklas.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 1:00PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, with Rev. Tim May and Father Kevin Farmer officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00.
