Former Harpers Ferry resident John Bradley "JB" Simons, 65, died March 6, 2015, at his home in Frederick, Maryland. His final days were spent surrounded by family.

He was born May 31, 1949 in Petersville, Maryland, a son of the late Virginia Simons-Dixon and Robert E. Lee Simons. He was a talented musician and artist with a passion for country and southern rock. He enjoyed painting, photography, motorcycling and tinkering with his treasures from his many trips to the flea market. JB was a kind and gentle soul whose love for his family ran deep.  He was an active member of the Brunswick Church of God.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his wife of 39 years, Sherry; daughters Angie Simons-Fee and husband Billy of Frederick, MD, Amanda Bradley and husband Neil of Charles Town, WV; son John B. Simons Jr. and fiance Patisha of Martinsburg, WV; granddaughters Madison Fee and Brooke Simons; brothers Jerry Simons and Glendale Simons; sisters Bonnie Graziosi, Sylvia Young, and Connie Roberts; mother-in-law Janet Stockman. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister Marlene Darrah, a brother Jack Simons, and niece Rosie Cabrera who all lost their courageous battle against cancer.

A celebration of JB's life will be held at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, March 10 at 3:00pm with Pastor Corey of Brunswick Church of God officiating. The family will be present to receive friends prior to services from 2:00-3:00pm.
