Mr. John Frederick Richenaker
Mr. John Frederick Richenaker, 88, of Frederick, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Darleen Richenaker, his wife of 55 years.
Born April 13, 1922 in Hackensack, New Jersey, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy Wood Richenaker.
Mr. Richenaker served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a 1943 graduate of Georgia Tech University and lifelong member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, and earned his MBA from what is now Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. He retired as a chemical salesman from Unilever in 1985. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and member of Walkersville United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife Darleen, Mr. Richenaker is survived by two daughters, Sheryll Tigner and her husband Alan, of Hernando, Florida, and Caryl Murphy and her husband Art of Oley, Pennsylvania, and a son Jack Ebeler and his wife Carolyn of Reston, Virginia; grandchildren Kristen Fennel, Gretchen Hazlin, Eric Fredrick, Becky Peterson, Shannon Hanor and Joe Murphy; and great-grandchildren David, Drew, and Caroline Fennel, Charlie and Matthew Hazlin, Kaylee Fredrick, Braden, Bryce and Cody Peterson, and Kady Hanor. He was predeceased by his brothers George "Woody" and Alan Richenaker.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Saturday, January 15 at Walkersville United Methodist Church, 22 Main Street, Walkersville, Maryland 21793, followed by a memorial service at 11 am and a luncheon at fellowship hall at the church. Interment will be in Hackensack, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund in care of Walkersville United Methodist Church.
