John Nelson
January 26, 1948 — October 10, 2014
John H. Nelson, 66, formerly of Keedysville, Maryland and Hagerstown, Maryland, and most recently a resident of Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Friday afternoon, October 10, 2014, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 26, 1948, in Keedysville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Walter and Helen (Eavey) Nelson.
John worked as a farm laborer for many years and enjoyed being outdoors.
He is survived by his two sisters, Doris Bowers and Sandy Gossard; and his brother, Robert "Bobby" Nelson. He is also survived by his special friends, Thea (Poffenberger) Gross and her husband, Clarence, of Hagerstown and Gale Barnes and his wife, Susan, of Keedysville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Nelson.
A graveside memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m.on Monday, October 20, 2014, at the Mt. Zion Cemetery at San Mar, 20544 Benevola Church Road, Boonsboro, Maryland 21713. Rev. Darrell L. Strite will officiate.
