Mr. John L. Mills 80 of Frederick, MD passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born June 15, 1932 in Brunswick, Maryland he was the son of the late John L. Mills and Anna Kathleen Webb Mills.
He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and worked on the USS Midway.
John retired as an Insurance Agent and also a school bus driver. He drove the bus on school field trips which he loved dearly. John also loved playing golf.
He was a devoted Mason and he just received his 50 year pin and enjoyed being a Keystone Cop with the Mason’s. He was also very devoted to the Shriners Hospital.
He is survived by his loving companion Ethel Testerman of Frederick, three children, Kevin Mills and wife Karen of Reston, VA, Robert D. Mills, and wife Bonnie of Simpsonville, SC and Vicki Mills of Frederick, four grandchildren, Colin Mills, Elizabeth Boutin, Jeremy Mills and Sarah Buehler and great granddaughter, Leslie Mills, brother, Ralph Mills and wife Laureda and two sisters, Ann Fahrenkrog and Sharon Steweart, and a special nephew, Michael Mills.
He will always be remembered by his dear friends, Judd Smith, Linden Hamilton , Larry Walsh and Bobby Hahn along with his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Doris Mills, and by his sister, Helen Mills Conklin and his brothers, Charles Thomas Mills and Larry Mills.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, January 13th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 14 at 1:00pm with Rev. Tim May officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
