John McGuffin

Mr. John C. McGuffin, 68 of Buckeystown, MD., passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of Jan Newsome McGuffin.

Born December 3, 1941 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late John T. and Eloise Bumbarger McGuffin.

Mr. McGuffin was a member of the Buckeystown United Methodist Church. He retired from NIST after 37 years of service and recently has worked for Homewood at Crumland Farms in the transportation department. John served his Country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post #11. He enjoyed spending time with his family , riding motorcycles and driving VW’s.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children John M. McGuffin and wife Lauren, Rebecca McGuffin Cooper and husband Thomas J. all of Frederick and Charles Matthew McGuffin and wife Julie Nicole of Boonsboro, grandchildren Ashlee and Jesse McGuffin, Simon and Charlotte Cooper and Coby Gussio and Mia McGuffin and his aunt Rosalie Rothenberger of Boyertown, PA.

A Memorial service will be held at the Buckeystown United Methodist Church, 3440 Buckeystown Pike, Buckeystown on Tuesday, June 29, at 6:00 p.m. Rev. Linda Healy will officiate.

Interment will be private
