John Kevin Lohman of Frederick, MD passed away in his home on April 16, 2019. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, Freemason, and loving son, brother, and uncle.
John lived around the Maryland/DC area throughout his life before settling in Frederick. He was a talented mechanic and electrician, and so he made his living doing this work for 19 years at Amtrak where he was well respected by his peers. He dreamed of driving across the country when he retired, visiting every state and hiking the full length of the Appalachian Trail. He was an avid reader. He loved learning about history, particularly military history. He enjoyed playing guitar, and he was an animal lover.
He is survived by his mother Melva Urban; his siblings Michael Lohman (Brenda) and Patricia Duley (Rodney); his nieces and nephews Scott Lohman, Jessica Carpenter (Matt), Christopher Duley (Kellie), and Colleen Puzzo (Christopher); his aunt Delilah Hughes; his cousins Ellen Moore and Gary Wheatcraft; and his grandnephews Matthew, James, Cameron, and Ronan. He is predeceased by his father Alfred "Bucky" Lohman.
His celebration of life and receiving of visitors will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 .
