John Kemple

Mr. John L. Kemple, 90, of Emmitsburg, MD , died on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at St. Catherine’s Nursing Home.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth  ( Hoy ) Kemple. Born  on June 29th, 1920 in Beaver, Utah, he was a son of the late George and Agnes Kemple .

Mr. Kemple was devoted as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was an accomplished carpenter and very meticulous about his work. A member of the Carpenters Union for 55 years.  He served his country as a Merchant Marine during WW II. Mr. Kemple will be remembered as an honorable man of strong moral character and had a great sense of humor.

Surviving beside his wife are one daughter; Rita Carroll and husband Dr. Alan Carroll of Emmitsburg, 7 grandchildren, Sarah, John & wife Colleen, Eric and wife Keri, Brendan and wife Heather, Peter, Amelia and Ruth Carroll. 7 great-grandchildren, Liam, Rees, Noah, Emma, Mackenzie, Darby and Finnian Carroll.  He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont,
On Saturday, October 2nd, from 1:00 p.m. To 2:00 p.m. With memorial services beginning at 2:00 p.m.
