John Kaljee
January 25, 1929 — July 20, 2019
John Kaljee, 90, of Stevensville, MD passed away peacefully on July 20, 2019 at his daughter Kathy’s home in Mt Airy, MD with Kathy, son-in-law Jerry, his beloved beagle Sam and Kathy’s 2 dogs and cat surrounding him.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years Helen and his only sibling Albert.
John is survived by his 3 children: Linda Kaljee Dempsey and husband John of Washington, DC, Kathy Hollar and husband Jerry of Mt Airy, MD and Michael Kaljee of New York. Grandchildren Margaret Dempsey, Mary Ngo, Wesley Hollar and Matthew Hollar and great grandchildren Caelan and Neil.
John and Helen moved to the eastern shore, Kent Island after their children finished school where they built their beautiful home.
John loved living by the water which inspired so many of his beautiful paintings. John was still painting up until just a few short weeks ago.
John loved being with his family. As well John had a community of friends at his home on Kent Island that he loved dearly.
We will all terribly miss this kind, humble, talented, gentle man.
A memorial service will be held for John at his home on Kent Island on a near date.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Frederick County Hospice who were beyond amazing to John and his family.
