John Jones

John Paul Jones , 81, of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Monica L. Jones of 40 years.
Born on October 14, 1937, in Brunswick, MD, he was the son of the late John Benjamin and Helen (Wigington) Jones.
He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1955 and honorably served in the U.S. Navy. John retired from the National Institutes of Health as a Property Manager.
John was a lifetime member of Amvets Post 2 as well as the Membership Chairman on the House Committee. He was the manager of the NECA with the Frederick National Little League and volunteered as an Umpire. He enjoyed hunting and golfing. His favorite sports teams were the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Redskins. He enjoyed volunteering for the Son's of the Amvets at their summer feeds. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Gary A. Jones (Terry) of Jefferson, Casey Jones (Illie) of Frederick, Travis Jones (Joan) and Corey Jones of all of Fairfield, PA. He had three grandchildren, Carly Jones, Logan Jones and Oliver Jones. His brother, Alan Jones (Sophie) of Knoxville, MD.
A celebration of John's life journey will take place at noon, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Amvets Post 2 in Frederick.
