John Hoffman

Mr. John William Hoffman, 97, of Thurmont, MD., passed away, Monday, July 29, at St. Joseph’s Ministries. He was the husband of the late B. Louise Long Hoffman.
Born February 25, 1916 in Creagerstown, MD., he was the son of the late John M. and Ethel Hankey Hoffman.
Mr. Hoffman was a member of the American Legion Post #168. He enjoyed raising roses, fishing and walking the streets of Thurmont. In earlier years, he was employed at Moore Business Forms.
He is survived by a son Dennis Hoffman and wife Lorraine of Thurmont and a daughter Elaine Baltzell and husband Michael of Tennessee, a grandson Dan Hoffman and wife Karen of Middletown and three great grandchildren Jenna, Chase and Brynn Hoffman. John was preceded in death by two brothers Charles and Morris Hoffman and a sister Evelyn Hoffman.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Ministries and Hospice for their loving care to Mr. Hoffman.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 1, at 11:00 am from the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Creagerstown, with Pastor Susan Beck officiating.
