John Hill, Sr.

Mr. John Earl Hill, Sr., 60, of Frederick, MD passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Deborah Brown Hill for 38 years.

Born March 1, 1951 in Frederick County he was the son of the late Ambrose and Gladys Virginia Roberts -Hill.

Mr. Hill was a 1969 graduate of Linganore High School.  He then proudly served in the United States Army as a paratrooper and was assigned during the Vietnam War to a  Special Division in Washington, D.C., he served for 3 years during that time.   John was a Christian and a member of International Community Church of God, formerly Maranatha.  He was devoted to reading The Living Word of God.   John’s past time enjoyments were watching the National Football League and the pro racing sport of Nascar.  In his earlier years from his youth, he played with the semi-pro Football team, Frederick Falcons , and he also enjoyed drag racing, God blessed him with skillful gifted hands, working on automobiles and anything that had to do with mechanics.  He attended Frederick Community College where he received his electrician and wiring certification, attended and received a certificate for becoming a 16 - wheeler truck driver.  Prior to his retirement , Mr. Hill worked for numerous companies over the years; He worked as a guard at Fort Detrick and received a certificate of honor, maintenance for Lockheed Martin Corp, in Gaithersburg, Frederick Community College (FCC) and worked for Lehigh block plant for 10 years in Woodsboro, Md.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Sherrille Luvene Hill, of Frederick; sons Aaron Fisher of CA and Andrew Fisher of Baltimore; one grandson Sean K. Lee-Hill of Frederick; three sisters; Sandra Butler, of Frederick, Virginia Onley of Rockville and Rosemary Hill of Bowie; one brother Bernard A. “Buddy” and wife Marguerite Hill , of Frederick.  Mr. Hill will be fondly remembered by his sister Virginia and brother, Buddy who were devoted and giving during his illness; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. John is preceded in death by his son John Earl Hill, Jr. “Poochie”, his brother Paul Hill , sister Barbara Roberts, maternal grandparents, Parents Gladys and Ambrose Hill, and Mrs. Ann King (Aunt Skip).

There will be a private v ie wing per request of the family.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11 AM at the International Community Church of God, 123 Byte Dr., Frederick, MD 21702.  Bishop Jerry Price will officiate.

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
