Mr. John Richard "Rick" Hawse, 50, of Mt. Airy, died suddenly Thursday, March 5, 2015 at his home. He was the loving husband of Tina Hawse, whom he married in 1999.
Born January 11, 1965 (the day following a blizzard) in Olney, he was the son of John Columbus and Carol Glick Hawse of Frederick.
Rick was employed with Bob Waltz Plumbing and Heating as an HVAC technician at the time of his death. He enjoyed NASCAR, drag racing and working on his '65 Mustang. He graduated from Damascus High School.
He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sisters, Jayne Gardner and husband, Eddie Gardner, Jr. of Frederick; and Cheryl Hipkins and husband, Frank, of Urbana; five nieces and nephews, Christina, Ryan, Justin, Danny, and Patrick; a great-niece, Jesi; a great-nephew, Jaden; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be remembered by his good friends, Oliver Davis of Mt. Airy, Denny Brashears of Frederick, Michael Cooke of Westminster, and the old VanSant gang.
Rick was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Mary Hawse, and Maurice and Alice Glick.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, where a memorial service will begin at 6:30 p.m.
