John Franklin "Jack" Grove Jr., age 76, of Tusings Way, Boonsboro, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 27, 1932 in Hagerstown, he was a son of the late John Franklin Grove Sr. and Marguerite Newcomer Grove.
He was formerly employed with Town House Manor Apartments in Hagerstown.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Willow Brook Seventh-day Adventist Church near Boonsboro.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Rebecca Sellers Grove, whom he married Feb. 27, 1974; six children, Debbie Kendall of Hagerstown, William Grove of Clear Spring, Loren Rolls of Virginia, Marie Jessop of Clear Spring, Christopher Rolls of Williamsport and Becky Lorey of Ohio; one sister, Joan Reese of Keedysville; 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Clem.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Elder Tim Crosby will officiate. Burial will be in Manor Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Tilghmanton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home which will open at noon.
