John Wendric Gaver, 43, of Boonsboro passed away at home Thursday, November 2, 2017. Born November 22, 1973, John was the son of the late Stephen F. Gaver and Ora T. Moore Gaver of Boonsboro.
John was a 1991 graduate of Boonsboro High School and attended Hagerstown Junior College. He served as an active member of the United States Marine Corp from 1993-1997 during the Gulf War, where he specialized in communications. Following his enlisted service, he continued with the Reserves until 2005. John was a Government contractor working as an Information Technology Specialist.
Above all else, John was a loving father. The joy of his life were his children, and he loved spending time with them. He was a joyful and loving free spirit and will be missed by all.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Kaleigh T. Gaudin of Boonsboro; his son, Gage Maveric Gaver of Point of Rocks; his sister, Kristin T. Grossnickle and husband, Christopher, of Hagerstown; nieces, Abigail T. Gaver, Elizabeth S. Gaver and Emily K. Grossnickle, all of Hagerstown; his special friend, Natalie Geisz of Point of Rocks; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, where funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 11. Officiating will be Fr. George Limmer from St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Inurnment with military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
