John Fadeley

John David "Dave" Fadeley, a man whose robust spirit and strong sense of moral conviction served as an inspiration to all those who knew him, went home to be with his Lord in the early morning hours of May 31, 2013, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Maryland. A lifelong Christian, Dave passed away displaying the same quiet dignity and resolve with which he lived his life. Dave was born and raised in Weirton, West Virginia.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962 when he was honorably discharged.  He moved to the Frederick, Maryland, area as a young man--where he quickly found work and a sense of purpose and community that would keep him living in the area for the remainder of his life. Dave was a quiet leader who enjoyed a long and successful career with the State Farm Insurance Company, where he retired in 2002 after nearly 40 years of service. Despite his many business accomplishments, his life was hallmarked by love of God, country and family. He was a passionate community volunteer and a member of Faith Baptist Church.  He was also a dedicated member of the University of Maryland Terrapin Club. Dave delighted in the simple pleasures of golf, fishing, and hunting--perhaps enjoying nothing more than quiet time with his wife and children, playful time with his grandchildren, and engaging one of his many friends in talk of the days' news and sports.  He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him--his spirit serving as a model for others to follow. Dave is preceded in death by his parents, John and Pauline Fadeley, and a sister, Roberta Kay Fadeley.  In addition to his wife of 55 years, Sara, he is survived by four children; Tamara Tiell and husband Dave, Kyle Fadeley and wife Dagmar, Nikki Davis and husband Ken, Lance Fadeley and wife Jennifer, nine grandchildren, and one brother, Paul Fadeley. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 5-9 PM at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 10 AM from the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, MD.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 2212 Jefferson Pike, Knoxville, MD, or the Salvation Army of Frederick, 467 W Patrick St., Suite 8, Frederick, MD 21701.
