John Wayne Duvall, 39, of Damascus, MD passed away suddenly on April 29, 2020. Born April 20, 1981 in Olney, MD, he was the son of the late Paul Wayne Duvall and Debra Sue Maddox Duvall.
John graduated from Damascus High School in 1999 and Montgomery College in 2004 with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. He was employed with the Montgomery County Circuit Court in Rockville, MD. for several years.
To know John, was to love John. John’s constant big smile was so contagious and his heart was always full of so much love for everyone he knew. John had such a sweet, kind, and giving soul. John loved his family and friends with his whole heart and would do whatever he could for anyone in need. John was passionate about always giving back. He was an active member of the community. He enjoyed supporting the many organizations and charities he was a part of. John was an active member of the Sons of American Legion Squadron 171 in Damascus, MD. He loved calling bingo on Thursday nights and enjoyed spending time with all that attended. John was also an active member of the Knights of Pythias Forest Oak Lodge #123 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3509. John was an avid sports fan. He loved the Washington Redskins, Orioles, professional wrestling, and horse racing. John never missed opening day at Camden Yards and looked forward to spending time with friends and family, watching and attending games. John developed his love for horse racing since birth. His parents and grandparents owned and raced several horses at Charlestown Race Track. He knew horse racing inside out and shared his passion for the sport. John will be missed by all who loved him.
John is survived by his sister, Reagan Wilson and nephews Kyle Wilson and Gavin Evans-Green of Palm Coast, FL. Aunts, Patricia Richardson (Danny) of Mt. Rainier, MD, Ruthann Duvall of Frederick, Sylvia Sturba of Damascus, MD, Robin Appel (Robert) of Walkersville, MD, Cathy Maddox of Thurmont, Carol Canzoneri (Frank) of Walkersville, Uncles Harold Maddox (Martha) of Baton Rouge, LA, Jim Maddox of Germantown, MD and several cousins.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his grandparents Paul (Buck) and Margaret Duvall, James and Evelyn Maddox and uncle, Richard Duvall.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 Damascus Volunteer Fire Department Activity Building at 1:00 pm, 10211 Lewis Drive, Damascus, MD 20872.
