Mr. John E. Bennett, 65, of Sykesville, MD passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Lynne C. Bennett.
Born on October 13, 1947 in Savannah, GA he was the son of the late John Cecil and Ruby Bryant Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was a graduate of Jenkens High School in Savannah, GA, and also attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. John proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1967-1971. He then worked as a computer analyst for Honeywell. John will be remembered as a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather to his family and a loving friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons John A. Bennett and wife Leslie Wolf Bennett and Michael H. Bennett and wife Jennifer Haas Bennett; grandchildren Nicholas W. Bennett, Brooke E. Bennett, Aidan M. Bennett, Andrew J. Bennett and Abigail M. Bennett and grandpets Einstein, Sonny and Spot.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Savannah, GA at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
