Mrs. Johanna M. Stull, 74, of Walkersville died Friday, April 17, 2009 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. She was the wife of 50 years to Delegate Paul S. Stull.

Born in Buckeystown, MD, on August 17, 1934, the only child of the late Florence (Tressler) and Henry Adams Magaha. A graduate of Mt. Airy High School, and a 1956 home economics graduate of Hood College, Johanna also attended Western Maryland College and the University of Maryland.

Johanna started out her professional career as a 4-H extension agent in Garrett County, MD. She went on to teach at both Liberty and Linganore High Schools, and for 22 years she taught at the Church of the Brethren Learning Center.

A member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church, Johanna led a very active life. She had membership in the Frederick Civic Women's Club, the Glade Valley Grange, was a past president of the Frederick Homemakers, membership in the Glade Valley Homemakers, Rose Hill Garden Club, both the Frederick County Farm Bureau and Frederick County Farm Museum, member of the Walkersville Volunteeer Fire Department, the Monocacy Quilters, and a 4-H All Star. She was a great fan of NASCAR racing, especially partial to Mark Martin.

Besides her husband, survivors include a son, Greg A. Stull and wife, Dr. Chellie Stull of Frederick, MD, her beloved cat, Applebee, and her grand dog Bryce. She will be missed by her good friends: Carroll and Judy Shry, Mary Ann and Edmund Mauzy, Janet and Joseph Wunderlich, Joyce Crawford, Pat Petre, Lois and Austin Schroyer, Susan Seale, Roger and Lois Wilson, and Theresa Musselman.


Visitation: The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 until 8 PM, and again on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Elza Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Glade Cemetery, Walkersville, with serving as pallbearers; Carroll Shry, Michael Crawford, Edmund Mauzy, Roger Wilson, Joe Wunderlich and Marvin Bures.
