Johanna "Joan" Twambly

Johanna "Joan" Elizabeth Twambly, 79, of Lovettsville, Virginia, and long-time resident of Windsor, Connecticut, passed from this life on Monday, March 25, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Bruce G. Twambly for 56 years.
Born on September 1, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Elmer "Dutch" and Elizabeth (Harrington) Koesting.
She attended St. John’s University, earning a Bachelor’s in Education and a Master’s Degree from the School of Psychology. She taught mathematics on Long Island for seven years and continued teaching at Windsor High School, Windsor, CT. She enjoyed sailing and travel.
In addition to her husband she is survived by sons, Bruce J. Twambly, Mark Twambly, and Thomas Twambly, their wives Sheri, Kelly, and Celina, as well as grandchildren Kaity, Graham, Meagan, and Dash.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, April 1, 2019, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4231 Catholic Church Road in Knoxville (Petersville), MD. Monsignor Robert J. Jaskot will officiate. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Petersville, MD.
