Joette Waters

Joette Denise Conte Waters, 69, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, November 14, 2021.

Born on January 12, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland, she grew up in Riverdale, Maryland, graduating from Elizabeth Seton High School and attending the University of Maryland. She worked as a District Manager for many years at Private Storage in Silver Spring, Maryland, followed by a successful career as a Property Manager of a Cooperative building in Arlington, Virginia.

She loved and lived her life to the fullest and her passion was for her family. She was the glue that held her family together as well as their fiercest defender. She had many loves in her life, foremost her family. Her love for Blake, Nick and Lisa was unmatched. Everywhere she went she brought her love, her laugh, and her tequila. Once you met Joette, you were a friend for life - a true testament to who she was.

She is survived by her husband, Blake Gardner, her children Nick and Lisa Waters, her three step daughters Erin Bonhoff, Katie Farrar, and Maureen Flanagan, her 5 grandchildren, Katelynn, Grace, Trey, Audrey, and Addison, her sister and brother in-law Nancy and Tom Dawson, her brother Richard Conte and sister in-law Mary Lynn Provenzon, her nieces Jessica, Gina, Rachele, and Valerie, and inumerable friends. She is proceeded in death by her mother Lola Jeanne Patrick and father Joseph Conte.

A celebration of Joette’s life will take place on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00pm and 4:00 to 6:00pm at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy MD, 21771. If you would like to share a memory of Joette there will be a podium and the family would love to hear your words. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Joette’s name to the American Alzheimers Association.
