Jody Carter

Mr. Jody William Carter, 52, of Frederick, passed away on Friday, November 25 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD.  Born on Wednesday, January 15, 1964 in Puxico, Missouri, he was the son of the late Lola L. Bolen and Carl Carter.

Jody was a 1983 graduate of Frederick High School and was employed as a mechanic most of his life.  He was an officer and active member in the Frederick Elks Lodge #684 for many years.  While spending time with his Uncle Bud, he fell in love with mules and enjoyed showing and parading them around as a member of the Maryland Draft Horse and Mule Association.  In addition to driving his mules, he enjoyed fishing and the beach.  Jody loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, teaching them about farm life and always making them laugh.  This prepared him to be a good father to his own two children, Zack and Sierra.  He especially loved doing anything that included them and spent most of his free time sharing their interests.  He was a prankster and a story teller to those who knew him, and will be greatly missed by his friends and extended family.  The family would like to thank Dr. Nehar and Dr. Rengen as well as all the special friends who helped him out over the years.

He is survived by a son, Zachary W. Carter, a daughter, Sierra G. Carter, both of Frederick; a sister, Bobbie Jean Alexander of Alexandria, VA; a brother, Mark Carter of California and his former wife, Paula Liller Carter of Frederick.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 3 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.  There will also be a visitation on Sunday, December 4 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00 PM, all at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.  The family suggests memorial contributions be made, by those wishing, to National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 or to Frederick Humane Society, P.O.
