Mrs. Jodi Thompson Shinoski, 42, of Mt. Airy, MD passed away Monday morning at the Dove House in Westminster, MD with her husband by her side.
Born December 6, 1972 to Jim and Georgia Thompson currently of Mt. Airy, MD, she was raised in Clarksville, MD where she graduated from Atholton High School in 1991. She graduated from Clemson University (95) and the Medical University of South Carolina (97), earning a degree in Radiation Therapy. She spent 15 years treating and caring for cancer patients.
October of 1998 she married her college sweetheart, Jarrett Shinoski, moved to Hiram, GA and settled in Hickory, NC before returning to Maryland in 2014. She was blessed with two beautiful sons, Ben and Kyle.
She is survived by her husband, Jarrett Shinoski; children Ben and Kyle; parents Jim and Georgia Thompson; sister Jacquie (Jeff) Boyle, their children, Alexandra and Eric Boyle; sister Jamie (Trent) Darling, their children, Caitlin and James Darling; sister Jill (George) Pearre, their children, Parker and Lila Pearre; grandmother, Lila J. Lee; mother-in-law Judy Shinoski; brother-in-law Brandon (Kayla) Shinoski, their children, Brandon, Andrew, Evan, and Delaney Shinoski; along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
A memorial service at Damascus Road Community Church (12826 Old National Pike, Mt. Airy 21771) is scheduled at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2015 and will be immediately followed by a celebration of her life at Turf Valley (2700 Turf Valley Rd., Ellicott City, MD 21042). In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made in her name to Inheritance of Hope, www.inheritanceofhope.org
