JoAnn Hazel Smith, 65, of Frederick, MD passed away on Friday, November 24, 2006. She was the wife of Lawrence Eugene Smith.

Born October 22, 1941 in Brunswick, MD she was the daughter of the late Bertha Schaeffer and William Jacobs.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, singing, dressing up and watching old movies.

She will be remembered as a very caring and loving person who would do anything you asked her for.

In addition to her husband Lawrence, she is survived by a two daughters, Elizabeth Stone and husband Dean and Jeanette Stottlemyer and husband John, Four sons, Eric Smith, Larry Smith and wife Virginia, William Smith and wife Cyndi and Charles Jacobs and wife Ruthie, grandchildren, Mary and fiance Jerry, Lawrence and wife Mary-Jean, Melissa and fiance David, Dean Jr. and girlfriend Heather, Christopher, Crystal, Stacy, Doug, Amber, Allie, Ariel, great grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Kabiean, David, Aiden and Lillian, brothers, Bruce and John Jacobs and a sister, Connie Seward and a favorite uncle, Leroy Schaeffer. She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, November 27, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Floyd Stottlemyer officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry, William, Eric, Charlie, Lawrence, John, Dean and Dean Jr.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
