Joanne Lucille Surber, 66, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Ballenger Creek Center in Frederick, MD.
Born on January 3, 1952, in Rockville, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Taylor, Sr. and June (Conaway) Taylor.
She was the wife of Edward Surber for 50 years.
She is predeceased by her brother John Henry Taylor, Jr. and Robert William Taylor.
JoAnne loved Elvis, the Redskins, bowling, playing Bingo, poker, and Waffle House sweet tea. She received the name "Tumbleweed" after trying to stand at the waters edge during her Virginia Beach vacation.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Donna Bishop and husband Rick, Frank Surber and companion Jessica Kengla; grandchildren, Quinten, Ricky, Nathaniel, Ashley, Jaylin, Izayah and Ellie and 1 great granddaughter on the way; siblings, Greg Taylor and wife Donna, Victor Taylor and wife Sharon, Deborah Holmes and husband David, Terry VanGieson and husband Wayne; sister in law, Donna Taylor. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and her best friend Patty Herald and extended grandchildren, Bobby Joe, Brianna, Nicolas and her "adoptive son", Ralph Zimmerman.
A celebration of JoAnne's life journey will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 1:00pm to 5:30pm at the Woodsboro Evangelical Lutheran Church in the social hall, 101 S. Main Street, Woodsboro, Maryland 21798.
