JoAnne Shaff

JoAnne Belle (Wilt) Shaff, 77, of Rohrersville, Maryland passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland.

Born on December 8, 1938 in Charlestown, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nettie (Oden) Wilt.

She graduated from Harpers Ferry High School.

She worked as a cook for Fast Eddie's in Brunswick, Maryland and as a waitress at Cindy D's in Sandyhook, Maryland. More recently, she worked as a nurse aid for Benevola Nursing Home.

On December 8, 1957, she married her late husband, Floyd Eugene Shaff.

JoAnne is survived by her children, Ronald Shaff, Terry Shaff, Jeff Shaff all of Rohrersville, and her daughter, Lisa Carey of Atltoona, Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Brittany Carey and Ashley Carey; niece, Debbie Myers, and many other loving family members and friends.

Her beloved puppy, Teddy, unexpectedly passed away later in the day on Sunday, the same day we lost JoAnne.

In addition to her parents, husband, and Teddy, JoAnne is preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland, 21713. The Rev. Daniel Fraley will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Brownsville Heights Cemetery, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Knoxville, Maryland 21758. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the scheduled service, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
