JoAnn Harrell, 78, of Frederick, Maryland, entered into the presence of her Savior on Sunday, July 18, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 19, 1943, in Florida, she was the daughter of the late Jack Watson and Minnie (Collier) Watson.
She was the loving wife of the late Earl Combs Harrell, her husband of 46 years.
JoAnn worked at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick Christian Academy as a teacher, retiring from Smith Kline after many years. She home schooled three of her grandchildren for twelve years of her life. She was a member of People's Baptist Church, where she taught Vacation Bible School. JoAnn also coached Little League Soccer, loved gardening and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Joe Harrell and wife, Sharon; James Harrell and wife, Karen and Dee Ann Fry and husband, Bryan; brother, Bob Watson and wife, Jean; sister, Harriet Watson and husband, James; grandchildren, Deborah, Daniel and Sarah Harrell; Philip Harrell and wife, Katie and Stephanie Clum and husband, Ben; Nathan, Laura and Bethany Fry; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Harrell and Marshall Clum and two more great-grandchildren on the way. She is also survived by many dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m to 11:00 a.m on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
Graveside services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick, MD 21701 at 11:15 a.m.
A family gathering will be held at People's Baptist Church, 6648 Carpenter Road, Frederick, MD 21703 on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. where a Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Dr. Kent Ramler will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to Frederick Christian Academy.
