Joann J. Coulter, 88, of Yarrowsburg, MD passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 1, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at Doey’s House in Hagerstown.
Born July 6, 1934, in Frederick County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Howard S. and Pauline V. Taulton of Yarrowsburg, MD.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Coulter Sr.; sister, Thomasine Germack; and brother, Howard “Buddy” Taulton.
She is survived by sister, Susie Ruffner (Pete) of Boonsboro; brother-in-law, Thomas Germack of Frederick, MD; her daughter, Bonnie Coulter of Boonsboro; sons, Chad Coulter (Stefanie) of Keedysville and Ronald Coulter, II of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Kiersten and Brooks Coulter of Keedysville, Ronald Coulter, III (Holly) of Warfordsburg, PA, Kelly Eichelberger (TJ) of Hagerstown; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Nancy and Donna Coulter of Yarrowsburg.
She was a lifetime member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren. Joann was a member of the Funkstown American Legion Pot 211 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 1136 in Brunswick.
Joann loved to watch her son, Chad, play baseball following him all over the East Coast then watching her grandchildren as they played sports. She liked to crochet and make blankets for family and friends, loved singing and roller skating in her younger years and was a wonderful cook, making meals for family and those in need.
The family is eternally grateful to Holly as she lovingly cared for Joann during the last few years of her life.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday November 7, 2022 at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Knoxville with Rev. Calvin Park officiating. Final resting place ceremonies will be held at the Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County or to the Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
