Joan Field Wilson

Joan Field Wilson, 90, of Mount Airy, passed from this life on Monday, September 26, 2022 at her home.  She was the wife of the late Donald Roby Wilson.  Born on August 20, 1932, in Brunswick, Maine, she was the daughter of Herman Luther Field and Edith Evelyn (LaBorde) Field.

She began her Christian Life at Berean Baptist Church in Brunswick, Maine and was a charter member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.  

Mrs. Wilson is survived by her children: David Wilson, Jeff Wilson and wife Terry, Steven (Judd) Wilson and wife Christie and Penny Stork and husband Chuck; Grandchildren: Travis, Brennan, Amber, Leif (Ashwini), Camden, Mitchell, Nathan, Hope, Caleb (Rachel), Jake (Tara), Paige and Thomas; a great-grandson, Arthur Wilson as well as a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Damon.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 1 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 710 North Main Street, Mt. Airy.  A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, Pastor Joshua Vogt officiating.  Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
