Jennifer D. “Jenny” (Little) Krantz, 57, of Mt. Airy, MD passed away unexpectedly near her home, early Saturday, May 15, 2021.
Born April 15, 1964 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of Paul M. and Brenda M. Little of Chambersburg, PA.
She graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1982. She studied Certified Dental Assisting at Frederick Community College, graduating in 1984, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene at Allegany College of Maryland in 2004.
Jenny sincerely and freely offered her love and affection to so many family members and friends. Her devotion to maintaining relationships was a priority. She truly had a deep understanding of the fragility of life and the importance of showing your loved ones what it means to cherish the connections we make in this life. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, partner, aunt, coworker, and friend. She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary, despite being part of such a large family. At family celebrations, you could count on her to bake the most amazing, beautifully decorated cakes.
Besides her family, what Jenny was most dedicated to was the monarch butterfly. She raised them from tiny specks she’d find on milkweed to masterpieces of brilliant colors, tending to the chrysalises as if they were children of her own, even tracking them on their journey south. She thought nothing of the hours she would spend in her Butterfly Shed tending to her “babies”. She sometimes released them in times of loss, to honor the life of a loved one. She even traveled to Mexico to be there for the Monarch Migration with her mother and sister. Her dental office was decorated with all things butterflies and she was always eager to educate others about them.
Jenny had such a beautiful heart and connected with everyone she met. It wasn’t only people and butterflies she cared for. Jenny was an avid gardener who paid witness to all of God’s beautiful creation by photographing her 3 cats, as well as all kinds of birds, insects, and flowers in her gardens, which she tended to as if she was God’s gardener herself. Jenny made so many lives more beautiful with her brief time on this earth.
Her work as a Dental Hygienist at Premier Dental Arts, Frederick, MD, was more than just a job. She loved her career, her work family, and each of her patients. Her caring touch was in every single thing she did.
In addition to her mother and father, Jenny leaves behind a daughter, Amanda Krantz, her fiancé, Griffin Schmidt and a son, Lucas Krantz, both of Thurmont, MD; her companion of many years, Dale Arnold, Mt. Airy; her “bonus” children, Bryan Arnold, Mt. Airy, MD. and Lyndsay Arnold, Mt. Airy, MD. ; six sisters: Theresa (Edward) Snyder, York, PA; Monica (Ryan) Crider, Missy (Frank) Etter, Pam (Mark) Shoap, all of Chambersburg, Sharon (Mel) Fager, Middletown, PA and Kimberly (Rodney) Masser, Frederick, MD; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she made feel special; many aunts, uncles and cousins with whom she held dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by infant twin siblings, Paul M. Little, IV and Christine Ann Little, and a niece, Brittney Shoap.
