Ms. Jennifer Dawn Sappington, 37, of Frederick, died Friday, November 23, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born July 28, 1975 in Frederick, she was the beloved and cherished daughter of Richard and Susan Joy Sappington, also of Frederick.
Jennifer was a 1993 graduate of Walkersville High School. She earned a full scholarship to Corcoran College of Art and Design; however, due to health reasons was unable to attend. She furthered her education at Frederick Community College and University of Maryland Baltimore County. She was an accomplished artist, specializing in pins, charcoal, and watercolors.
The first things people noticed about Jennifer were her precious smile and endearing sweetness.
She also loved her pets, her beloved cat, Spock; her Yorkie Terrier, Colby; and her cat, Nana.
In addition to her parents, Jennifer is survived by her aunts and uncles, Madge Lamb, Laura Holly and husband, Fred; Robert Sappington and wife, Cheryl; June Benjamin; Dolores Anderson; Melva Stream; and Carolyn Joy McCall, her "adopted" mother who loved her as her own; and numerous cousins. She will be remembered by her four best friends, Michelle, Lisa, Jamie, and Shelly; and her aunt Carolyn's cat, "Sassy Joy."
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Ruth and Richard Sappington, Sr., and Virginia and Melvin Joy.
Her family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4231 Catholic Church Road, Knoxville, MD 21758. Officiating will be Father George Limmer.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
