Jeffrey Wivell

September 18, 1957 — October 12, 2013

"Jeffrey Patrick Wivell of Emmitsburg, Maryland, passed away quietly in the presence of close family and friends at York Hospital on the morning of Saturday, October 12th 2013. He was 56 years old.

Jeffrey is survived by Tammy, his beloved wife of 33 years. They were married on June 28th, 1980 at The National Shrine Grotto of Lourdes in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Jeffrey is lovingly remembered by his four children, Sarah Bryson, Adam, Evan and Allison, two granddaughters, Lexi and Abby Bryson, daughter-in-law Jayme and son-in-law Mike Bryson. In addition, Jeffrey is survived by seven brothers and five sisters; James and wife Nancy, Phyllis and husband Bob Green, Mark and wife Lynn, Ange and husband Dave Geotz, Vik and husband Ronnie Stevens, Doug and wife Kim, Eric and wife Annette, Cecelia and husband Steve Gregory, Joyce and husband Brian Glass, Andrew and wife Tara, Chick (Chris) and wife Mary Anne, and Buck (Dennis), multiple nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and devoted friends.

Jeffrey is predeceased by his mother and father, James and Lorraine Wivell, and niece, Denise Ferguson.

A graduate of Mother Seton School and St. Joseph's High School in 1975, Jeffrey proudly took over his family farm, Twin Oaks, which he diligently maintained until his death. An inspiration to all who met him, Jeffrey was a devout Catholic and active parishioner at St. Joseph's Parish in Emmitsburg who enjoyed traveling, hunting, reading, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD, Thursday, October 17, where the family will receive friends from  2 – 9:00 pm.  The Rosary will be said at 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass  will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 47 Depaul Street, Emmitsburg, MD at 11:00 am, Friday, October 18, 2013 with  Father John Holliday as celebrant.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the 1Lt Rob Seidel Wounded Soldiers Fund or the Mother Seton School Tuition Assistance program. Please make checks payable to ACCF, referencing 1Lt Seidel WSF in the memo, and mailed to Tammy Wivell at 9807 Dry Bridge Road, Emmitsburg, Maryland 21727 or payable to Mother Seton School referencing the Tuition Assistance Program, and mailed to 100 Creamery Rd, Emmitsburg, MD 21727."
