Jeanne Delauter

September 5, 1940 — October 24, 2015

Mrs. Jeanne P. Delauter, 75, of Port St. John,  Florida went to be with Jesus, surrounded by her loving family  on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Thurmont, Maryland.  She was the wife of the late Paul Delauter.

Born September 5, 1940 in Newport News, Virginia, she was the daughter of Jacob Donald Plank of Port St. John, Florida and the late Edna Mae Elgin.

Mrs. Delauter was a member of Hope Community Fellowship Church in Titusville, Fl and Prime Timers.
She retired from Frederick County Public School System at Linganore High School.  Jeanne loved spending time with her family and her life and friends in Florida.  She was a caregiver throughout her life and touched many lives with her beautiful smile and loving attitude.  Jeanne never knew a stranger.

In addition to her father, she is survived  by her daughter Connie Barnard and husband Richard of Thurmont, two granddaughters Heather Winpigler and husband Marty of New Market and Tiffany Marr and husband Colin of Centreville, MD, great grandchildren Tristan Thompson, Kelton and Corwin Marr, her siblings Gary Plank and wife Kathy, Carl Plank and wife Sandy, Susan Cline and husband Bobby and David Plank and wife Sherry and many nieces and nephews.  She will also be remembered by her special friends Irv Walden and Sherri Barnes.  She was preceded in death by a son Michael Paul Delauter.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday  October 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Graveside service will be held at Locust Grove Cemetery, 13356 Glissons Mill Road, Mt. Airy, MD on Wednesday, October 28,  at 10:30 am.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am from the church with Pastors  Greg Quintell, Bud Lusk and Roger Hackenberg officiating.

Contributions may be expressed to the Alzheimers Association or to the Crohn’s Foundation.
