Mrs. Jean Marie Mader, 57, of Mt Airy, passed away in the loving arms of her husband at her home on Thursday, March 22, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of David Mader, her husband of 38 years.
Born on August 2, 1949 in St. John's, New Foundland, she was the daughter of the late Charles Pap and Dorothy Thompson Everett. She was a homemaker. Jean had worked at Lucy's Consignment Shop in Mt. Airy for the past 7 years. She enjoyed puzzles, Sodoku, crocheting as well as spending time at their beach house and with her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sons: Mike Mader of Mt. Airy and Chuck Mader and wife Heather of Weston, FL; a daughter, Cynde Taylor and husband James of College Park; 7 grandchildren: Delanie Mader, Devin Mader, Daegan Mader, Jacob Mader, Colleen Mader, Gage Deike and Alexa Taylor; 2 sisters: Ann Lester of Apex, NC and Dottie Scherer of Bowie; 2 brothers: Donald Everett of Keymar and Charlie Everett of Rockville; her mother-in-law, Mary Smith of Mt. Airy; a daughter-in-law, Leah Mader of Westminster; former son-in-law, J.J. Deike of Hagerstown as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She will also be remembered by her special friends: Michelle Deike and Judy Gue and by her friends at Lucy's, the Redeemer Church and the 7-11 in Mt. Airy.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 PM on Monday, March 26, at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 27015 Ridge Rd., Damascus, Md.
Services:
Services will be held at the church at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 27, with Rev. Raymond Scheck officiating.
Interment will be in private.
