Jean A. Markward

Jean A. Markward, 87, went to Heaven while in the loving care of her family on Saturday, November 29th, 2008.
Born on July 10, 1921 in Norfolk, VA she was the daughter of the late Mary Agnes (Millar) and Richard Alexander Ayers. Jean was, for a number of years, a former investigator of credit card fraud for the Sears Roebuck Company. She also volunteered at the Shady Grove Hospital in the gift shop.
A loving Mother and Grandmother she will be missed by her family, including two daughters, Francie Smaroff and husband Mike of Adamstown, and Sandra Gamble of Frederick; a son, Chip Markward and wife Jude of Lake Tahoe, CA; three grandchidren; Lauren Smaroff of Adamstown, Matt Blocher of Washington, DC and David Blocher of Potomac Falls, VA; she is also survived by several nieces.
Jean was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam McDonald and a brother, Richard Ayers.

Services: A memorial service celebrating Jean's life will held on Friday, December 5th, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. Interment will be private.
