Jean Wise

They are all there now. Jean Cree Wise has gone to join her beloved sisters, Marjorie Hays, Shirley Wolfrey, Emily Brenneman and brother Donald Wise in God's loving embrace.
She left this life on December 13, 2018 at the age of 94 after living a hard but long life full of independence, stubbornness and lots of love for her siblings, children, grand children, great grandchildren and nieces.  Ms. Wise is survived by her three children: Stephen (Lynne) Wingard, Michael (Karen) Wingard and Mark (Joann) Wingard, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and four nieces that she loved beyond words.  She was so proud of each and every one of them.

Ms. Wise was born in Roaring Springs, PA on October 17, 1924.  She grew up in Altoona, PA and in 1944 she enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served her country at the Main Post Office in Washington, D.C. until the end of WWII.  She returned to civilian life and began her family in 1947 with Pete Wingard in the Maryland suburbs, raising her three sons and living the rest of her life in the Washington metropolitan region.  She had a long successful career with the International Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and retired from the union in 1988.  She spent the next 30 years being a mom, and a grand and great grandmother to all of her clan.  We are all the better for her in our lives and she will be greatly missed.

There will be military honors and interment at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, Maryland, date and time to be announced.
